Wolfensson, Vienna

Wolfensson has been in the fashion industry for the last 20 years. In 1995, he opened his first menswear shop in Graz, in 1998 women’s collections were added. In Graz he is known as the pioneer regarding the “sale of contemporary fashion”. He was the first to sell collections by Dries van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens, Marni, Martin Margiela, Azzedine Alaia, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons, Junya Watanabe, Issey Miyake ... and has never been one to compromise. Graz has now become too small for him; he was longing for urbanity and in Austria the only place you can find it is in Vienna.

Following Jean Cocteau’s maxim, “style is a simple way of saying complicated things”, he recently opened a new shop in Vienna’s Habsburgergasse. You won’t find the word “mainstream” in his vocabulary, nor in his philosophy. What he cares for is the avant-garde in fashion and the constant search for the new. To continue his search, he set up shop in a completely new area, selling clothes he himself likes and also wears. The unusual space in Vienna was created by architect and designer Hannes Zieher of Moccaroom, Albert Handler of Brand Unit was responsible for the design.
